We all know that getting into sewing is the hardest part. Once you have the machine and the other accessories you need, it is all just practicing the craft! It can be hard to get a good start, though. When I first started sewing, I had no idea what to do first. It all depends on what you want to do with your knowledge!
This is the machine I bought. A hefty purchase, I know. Like I mentioned in my previous post, this machine has been so helpful in guiding me to the right sewing direction. Everything is clearly understandable and it has yet to truly give me any trouble! Click here or the arrow to the left for the direct affiliate link to Amazon (unless you wanna haul to JOANN haha)

Leave the Intimidation at the Sewing Store
When I started, I looked up the closest sewing store near me. Most cities (even my super small college town) have at least some store where you can purchase bobbins, thread, fabric, et cetera. These ladies helped me tremendously. They told me what rotary cutter was the best, which fabric chalk ACTUALLY works, and even showed me what patterns are. My first actual sewing finished project was a small tote bag. I genuinely think this is the best way to start. It includes some techniques
that are used in other projects, but nothing too complex that a beginner could not understand. I only used a few pieces of fabric, none of which needed a pattern. Just some thick fabric with a matching thread roll and bobbin and boom, easy. I will post a tutorial at some point, once I start gaining just a bit of traction on this sewing blog ha. Do not let this intimidate you! I posted a blog before this explaining my first garment and answering any worries you may have! All of the products I am going to link are beginner products that you need every time you sew.

SO! If you decide to buy the Singer 4411 Heavy Duty machine, the following products have helped me! However, if you already own a machine that is not a Singer, I would recommend doing just some simple research to see if the company that makes the machine made it compatible with other sewing accessories as well.
Don’t Worry, Here are the Products!
These are all products I use and have handy. Your sewing needles will need to be changed, so just get them while you are ahead! The clear bobbin cases are used to fill with whatever sewing thread you have handy! I have found this to be so much easier than just trying to color match an already loaded bobbin. The cleaning kit is a need. I know people say this all the time, but it is an expensive sewing machine, take care of it!
These are also things that you will likely use for every project once you become comfortable running fabric through the sewing machine. High-quality fabric scissors are a must-have. I am not sure if anyone else has tried to use non-fabric scissors on fabric, but it does not work very well! The 3-piece rotary set is also something I always use now. It makes cutting and measuring 10x easier. Now, if you are not looking to spend $50 on those three pieces, I would at least recommend getting the sewing mat. The rotary cutter does make it easier, but the scissors work fine. The last item, plastic clips, work so much better for me than the fabric-holder needles. Yeah, no. I have pricked myself way too often to make that mistake again. They also stay in place so much easier than the needles when sewing pieces.
Alright, I wanted to include one more group of sewing accessories that I often use that are not necessary, but they have made life much easier for me and I don’t really want to go without them any more!
